Sharan Valley and forest is one of the most beautiful untouched gem of Kaghan valley located at height of 7872 ft. The only issue here is the old mountainous road that is stretched only 16 KM from town of Paras but its takes 4x4 jeep two and half hours to reach to Sharan Valley. Both sides of the roads are covered with lush green grass and tall pine trees. You can find here one of the most dense pine forest of Pakistan. In last few years timber mafia has done lot of damage to forest but now govt. is making some effort to stop these mafias and trying to keep these forests as they are. Previously there was only one forest rest house here to stay which consist on only one room and there was a boys hostel as well to where travellers can stay with advance booking but both places were not suitable for families but now KPK govt. has made some pods/huts here for everyone but it’s still recommended to visit Sharan valley in day time and in evening stay at Naran, Kaghan or Shogran. If you love hiking then you can move from here to summit Musa ka Mussalla peak which has height of 13,372 ft. Since these are dense forest and also home of Cheetas and black bears, so if you are hiking toward Musa ka Musslla then you must hire local guide to stay on trial and to avoid any unusual circumstances.
